Core Components of Mobile Cranes

Mobile cranes mainly consist of five key parts: hoisting mechanism, traveling mechanism, luffing mechanism, slewing mechanism, and metal structure.

Hoisting Mechanism
As the basic working mechanism of a crane, it is mainly composed of a suspension system and a winch. Some models lift heavy objects through a hydraulic system, which is the core component for realizing the vertical lifting of loads.

Traveling Mechanism
It is used for two purposes: moving heavy objects longitudinally and horizontally, and adjusting the crane's own working position. Generally, it is made up of a motor, a reducer, a brake, and wheels to ensure stable and precise movement.

Luffing Mechanism
Exclusive to jib cranes, it adjusts the operating radius by changing the boom angle: the radius decreases when the boom is raised, and increases when the boom is lowered. It is divided into two types: balanced luffing and unbalanced luffing.

Slewing Mechanism
Its function is to rotate the boom, so as to expand the crane's operating coverage. It consists of a driving device (providing power) and a slewing support device (ensuring smooth rotation).

Metal Structure
Serving as the "skeleton" of the crane, it bears all loads of the machine and heavy objects. Key load-bearing components (such as bridges, booms, and gantries) can be designed as box structures, truss structures, or web structures, and some also function as support beams.
