Telehandler Attachment Selection Guide

Feb 16, 2026

The versatility of a telescopic boom forklift lies in its ability to be equipped with various attachments to adapt to different tasks. Choosing the right attachments can double work efficiency and reduce material loss. Whether transporting sheet metal or bulk materials, it can handle them with ease.

Regularly Shaped Goods

For palletized goods, the standard forks are sufficient for most daily loading and unloading needs. For handling long, regular materials like steel plates and pipes, a lifting attachment can be used. It allows for precise adjustment of material position, eliminating the need for repeated equipment movement, even in narrow aisles.

Irregularly Shaped Materials

For slippery materials like timber rolls, the forks may not be able to grip them. In this case, clamp attachments are needed, such as log clamps or soft-pack clamps. Log clamps can firmly hold timber, while soft-pack clamps with cushioning pads can handle fabrics and feed bags. Preventing material shaking or damage during handling, choosing the right clamps for the material ensures smooth operation.

Bulk Materials

Sometimes at construction sites or outdoor areas, it's necessary to handle sand, gravel, ore, and other bulk materials. By attaching a bucket, you can transport light bulk materials like grain. For transporting ore and sand at construction sites, choose a thickened, wear-resistant bucket to reduce the hassle of frequent replacements.

Good telescopic boom forklifts also have a leveling function for precise unloading.

Aerial Lifting

For lifting heavy equipment, a simple boom can handle ordinary daily operations with the right lifting attachments. Heavy-duty hydraulic lifting attachments have a stronger load-bearing capacity and can meet the lifting needs of construction sites, ports, and stone processing plants. However, be careful not to overload the equipment to avoid accidents.

Choosing attachments for a telescopic boom forklift involves selecting attachments suitable for the materials. Appropriate attachments allow the equipment to be used for multiple purposes, reducing investment in additional equipment and improving work efficiency.
